K-CUP NEWS: Green Mountain Announces 2009 Seasonal Coffee Lineup

I just finished going through the Shoffee.com mail, and something has truly piqued my interest in a package that has just came from our good friends over at Green Mountain Coffee.

Green Mountain has just sent out their 2009 Seasonal Coffee Program schedule, and they have made a huge change to their summertime offering. Over the past few years we have come accustom to Green Mountain Raspberry Rhapsody Keurig K-Cups and Green Mountain Organic Summer Blend Keurig K-Cups being summer morning favorites, but this year, Green Mountain is doing away with both of them. In place of these two summer coffees, Green Mountain will introduce Green Mountain Summer Safari Blend Keurig K-Cups and The Perfect Peach Keurig K-Cup. That's right, a peach-flavored coffee. We have June 8th circled on our calendar Green Mountain.

Here is Green Mountain's 2009 Seasonal Coffee Program Schedule:

Winter
December 29, 2008 through March 13, 2009
Green Mountain Extra Bold Wicked Winter Blend Keurig K-Cups
Green Mountain Golden French Toast Keurig K-Cups

BAM!

Ok, so now I've got your attention.

BAM! My bad, I thought I might have lost you there.

Emeril Lagasse is at it again, and this time he is just in time for the holiday season. KEURIG K-CUP INFO: Diedrich Coffee Announces Discontinued Keurig K-Cups

Just as you were probably starting to warm up to the idea of Extra Bold, Flavored Keurig K-Cups (and a different flavored decaf coffee besides French Vanilla and Hazelnut), Coffee People and Gloria Jean's parent company, Diedrich Coffee has pulled the plug.

This morning, Diedrich announced that they will no longer be producing the following Keurig K-Cups from Coffee People:

They also have said they will no longer be making Gloria Jean's Decaf Butter Toffee, or the following teas from Gloria Jean's:

At Shoffee.com, we still have some of these discontinued Keurig K-Cups in stock. But the best advice we can give is if you love any of these, order quickly - they'll be gone fast.

K-CUP NEWS: New Green Mountain Retail Packs have only 12 K-Cups per Pack

I just got back to my office after picking up some fantastic soup at my local Kings Supermarket (West Caldwell, NJ). I usually stop and check out their selection of Keurig K-Cups while I'm there to make sure that the prices and selection on Shoffee.com has a much better selection of K-Cups, at a better price.

So today, I had two surprises during my trip to Kings. The first was that the new packaging for what has always been referred to as the Keurig B40 Elite Brewer is now known as the Keurig Classic Brewer, and even more shocking was the fact that all of the new Green Mountain retail packs at King's (pictured above) only contained 12 K-Cups (priced at $7.49/pack).

So now, the savings at Shoffee.com is even greater than before. When you purchase Green Mountain Keurig K-Cups at Shoffee.com, you get 24 K-Cups per pack. That's double what you'll find at retail locations, and all Green Mountain Keurig K-Cups on Shoffee.com are priced starting at $10.39/box of 25 K-Cups.

Let's do the math:

Green Mountain K-Cups at your local grocery store:
$7.49 / 12 = about $0.62 per cup

Green Mountain K-Cups at Shoffee.com:
$10.39 / 24 = about $0.43 per cup

If you drink just one cup of coffee per day, that's a savings of $69.35 per year.
